The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) is a premier medical institution in India, located in Pune, Maharashtra. Established in 1948, it is a unique institution that combines medical education with military training, producing medical professionals who serve in the Armed Forces Medical Services.
AFMC is affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences and is recognized by the National Medical Commission. The college offers undergraduate (MBBS), postgraduate (MD/MS), and super-specialty courses in various medical disciplines. Teaching Hospital Beds
A comprehensive 5.5-year program (including internship) that trains students in all aspects of medicine, surgery, and community health. The curriculum includes military-specific modules like field medicine, disaster management, and aviation medicine.
Advanced training in 25+ specialties including General Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Psychiatry, Radiology, and Anesthesiology. Programs emphasize research methodology and clinical leadership.

Admissions to AFMC are highly competitive and based on national-level entrance examinations. For MBBS, candidates must qualify NEET-UG and appear for an additional screening test and interview. For postgraduate courses, NEET-PG scores are considered followed by centralized counseling.
